Mt. Kurohime
Mount Kurohime is one of the The Five Mountains of Northern Shinshu.
The Kurohime Plateau is crisscrossed with well-maintained trails, leading hikers through diverse seasonal landscapes. For a day-hike to the summit of Mount Kurohime, you’ll encounter the “”Nashinokida Terraced Rice Fields,”” recognized as one of Japan’s 100 Best Terraced Rice Fields, and the trail takes just approximately one hour to finish, making it an ideal option for casual hiking visitors to Takayanagi.
Along the way, you’ll also discover a water source known as “”Onigoroshi-kiyomizu”” (Demon-Killer Spring) and a beautiful beech forest.
